Outreach and Access
Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) Days
AVID is a national nonprofit that changes lives by helping schools shift to a more equitable, student-centered approach. The majority of AVID students come from lower socioeconomic backgrounds and underserved communities.
The goal of the AVID program is to close the opportunity gap their students face. The University of South Florida is proud to coordinate with AVID-affiliated schools to support their mission by preparing students for college.
AVID Days at USF
USF sponsors a month-long visitation experience to help prepare AVID students for college. During this event, students will be exposed to important aspects of higher learning that they may not get otherwise:
- Adapting to university student life
- Navigating the college admissions process
- Preparing for college-level academics
- Identifying college funding opportunities
During AVID Days, USF welcomes middle and high school AVID programs to participate. For more information on requirements, timing and registering, contact our Outreach and Access team.
