BIO

S. Morgan Gresham turns students into better writers. She specializes in writing program administration, portfolio assessment, teaching composition and teaching writing in digital environments. As Director of General Education at USF’s St. Petersburg campus, Gresham also works with colleagues in Tampa and Sarasota-Manatee to align education goals across the institution.

Gresham was one of 23 researchers engaged in a three-year research seminar sponsored by Elon University. Along with four colleagues from universities around the county, Gresham works to better understand the most effective ways to teach and design capstone experiences. Gresham and six colleagues at USF’s St. Petersburg campus received the $395,000 Learn and Serve Grant from the Corporation for National and Community Service from 2009 to 2012, which supported leadership initiatives and a student philanthropy program that offered grants to assist non-profit organizations meet critical needs in the local community.

Gresham teaches a range of courses, from freshman-year writing to advanced division courses in composition and digital communication. She leads the first year composition program and the upper-division writing studies program. Gresham is the co-author of “Education Matters: Exploring Issues in Education.”
