Derek Mateos, ‘99

Derek Mateos is a graduate of the University of South Florida Master’s Program from the School of Architecture and Design, a licensed general contractor in the state of Florida as well as a licensed real estate sales broker. He created Matcon Construction Services, Inc., with his father Rudy Mateos. He has been involved in many large commercial development projects including clients such as Publix supermarkets, Walgreen’s, CVS, multi-family projects and several others. In 12 years, he had managed in excess of 180 million dollars of projects.  

Mateos also serves on the USP College of Arts and Sciences Advisory Board and is a member of ABC (associate Builders & Contractors), ULI (Urban Land Institute), NAIOP (Commercial Real Estate Development Association) and ICSC (International Council of Shopping Centers).
