Bio
Deven Gray is a doctoral student in the Department of Anthropology at USF, whose specialization is medical anthropology, specifically the anthropology of infectious diseases. Research interests include mosquito-borne diseases and their intersections with reproductive health policy led the prospective master’s student to research the Zika virus in Belize due to its causal link to congenital defects. Gray seeks to continue fieldwork on this topic aided by a multidisciplinary skillset including applied medical anthropology, public health, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to investigate environmental and structural risk factors for mosquito breeding.
