BIOGRAPHY

Daria Zavodskaia is originally from Abkhazia, but during the past decade she studied and worked in many countries, such as Italy, Switzerland, Germany, and Russia. Her professional interest is closely connected to intercultural and interpersonal relations, and history and theory of cultures. Her dissertation will examine the experiences of women in the South Caucasus (an area that includes Abkhazia, Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan) and the ways in which they constitute “othering” identities within social/cultural interactions. Besides that, she is really into art (especially everything that was made between 1880 and 1970) and cinematography.
