BIOGRAPHY
Sherin Farhana Moni is a final year Master’s student and Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) in the Department of Communication at the University of South Florida (USF), USA. Her research interest includes organizational communication, Third World feminism, postcolonial studies, media frame analysis, subaltern and resistance studies. Sherin’s Master’s research at USF adopted a Third World perspective to understand social movements as an area of organizing resistance. Using labor organization as a research site, she investigates how communication works among laborers in organizing their movement. Before joining USF, she did her undergraduate and Master's from the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Sherin worked for different national and international organizations including Democracy International (DI), an US based INGO, and BBC Media Action. She has teaching experience in the Department of Communication and Media Studies at the University of Development Alternative, Bangladesh. Sherin has participated in a number of academic conferences and events in the USA, South Korea, Pakistan and Bangladesh.
