On October 16th, 2022, several USF Creative Writing MFA students read their work in front of a crowd of supportive listeners. Hosted at the Corner Club, USF MFA students and supporters alike met up on a lovely fall Friday and partook in the vulnerable yet thrilling experience of live readings. The following attendees had this to say about the event:
"I already knew my classmates were incredibly talented writers, but hearing their work in their voices was beautiful. I also loved the opportunity to share my own work and get experience reading in public. It was a great evening, and I look forward to attending future Spoonbill events!" – Andrea Rinard
“The Spoonbill reading was a wonderful event that Dr. Koets held for everyone, and the outdoor venue was very enjoyable for hanging out and hearing each other read. Most of all, it was nice to spend time together in-person and support each other's work. I'm really looking forward to attending the next Spoonbill event!” – Audrey Blanco
"I loved hearing everyone's beautiful and varied work [on October 16th] at The Spoonbill Series. Looking out at the supportive faces in the crowd helped me get through my own reading. Plus, the place was adorable. What could be better?" – Ann-Elizabeth Caputo
