Internship Interview: Sarah Harder

Suncoast Housing Connections

This spring, I had the opportunity to intern at Tampa Bay Community Development Corporation, now known as Suncoast Housing Connections. During my time at SHC I worked closely with the President and CEO, Fran Pheeny. Over the course of the semester, I assisted in the rebranding process, from creating a new website and social media accounts, to brochure creation, event planning, and grant writing. Although I learned hard skills like website design and how to run social media for a business, I also learned about how nonprofits are run, and how to leverage my skillset in an industry I had little knowledge of prior to. This internship has helped me grow as a technical writer and has created opportunities for me to continue working in the affordable housing industry.
