School of Geosciences Professor Leads Permafrost Thaw Study

06/17/24 — Professor Timothy Dixon from the School of Geosciences is leading a NASA and Army Corps of Engineers-funded study on permafrost thaw, aiming to understand its impacts on methane emissions. Using lidar and radar sensors, the team collects data at Big Trail Lake to track changes and predict future environmental effects.
