Dr. Steven Walczak Named an Inaugural Highly Ranked Scholar by ScholarGPS

Professor Steven Walczak, Ph.D. is a tenured Professor in the School of Information in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of South Florida.  He earned his Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Florida and his M.S. in Computer Science and B.S. in Mathematics from the Johns Hopkins University and the Pennsylvania State University respectively.  Dr. Walczak teaches health informatics and cybersecurity concentrations. His primary research interests are in applied artificial intelligence systems (including artificial neural networks, expert and knowledge-based systems, cognitive modeling, machine learning, and intelligent software agents), healthcare information systems, knowledge management and organizational learning, and electronic commerce specializing in online auctions and virtual presence.  Recent projects involve using data science to identify note progression patterns in music for the purpose of studying musical borrowing, and using text analytics to categorize tweets from disaster zones.
