Camara Silver was awarded the Black Faculty & Staff Award at the Sankofa Celebration on February 28, 2019 for the course "Queer Social Movements in Global Perspective". The Black Faculty & Staff Award represents faculty and staff on campus who go above and beyond to empower black students’ development, persistently show hard work and dedication, and create an open sense of community and inclusivity. The Sankofa Celebration is the concluding event for Black Heritage Month.
