Pi Sigma Alpha

Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honor Society, is the nation’s third largest honor society, with chapters established in colleges and universities nationwide. In addition to stimulating interest and promoting activity in the fields of political science, international studies, and public administration. Pi Sigma Alpha also gives students the opportunity for valuable administrative experience as chapter officers or organizers of chapter activities.

Qualifications for Full Membership (Set by National Office)

Undergraduates

  • Completion of at least one-half the credits required for the baccalaureate degree (60 hours).
  • Minimum of 12 undergraduate semester hours of political science, international studies, and/or public administration (POS, POT, INR, CPO, PAD), including at least one upper-level course.
  • B average or higher in those courses.
  • 3.0 overall grade point average.
  • Submission of an unofficial transcript attached to the membership application form.

 Graduate Students

  • Completion of at least 9 graduate credits in political science, international studies, and/or public administration.
  • No grade in graduate-level course lower than a B.
  • Submission of an unofficial transcript attached to the membership application form.
