Heike Scharm is Associate professor of Spanish literature and culture at the University of South Florida at Tampa Bay. She is the author of El tiempo y el ser en Javier Marías (Rodopi 2013) and of the edited volume Postnational Perspectives on Contemporary Hispanic Literature (2017). She has published articles and chapters on ecocriticism and transatlantism, and is currently preparing a book manuscript titled Transcorporeality, the Anthropocene, and the Post-Human, which offers an ecocritical reading of recent Spanish novels in dialogue with the literary production of other countries. Besides ecocriticism, her main research and teaching interests are globalization, science-fiction, philosophy, identity politics, as well as cross-cultural and post-national approaches to European and Latin American literatures.
