Steve Sapol
Lieutenant Colonel Stephen Sapol, Ph.D., is the Analysis and Plans Division Chief within the Resources and Analysis Directorate (J-8) for U.S. Central Command. The Analysis and Plans Division provides decision support analysis for USCENTCOM through advanced wargaming, modeling, and simulation techniques across the conflict-competition-cooperation spectrum. LTC Sapol began his military career as a field artillery officer with operational deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan until transitioning to the Operations Research Systems Analyst functional area. Prior to USCENTCOM, LTC Sapol served as a Program Integrator for Headquarters Department of the Army, G-8, Program Analysis, and Evaluation, and as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Systems Engineering at the United States Military Academy. He holds a B.S. in Operations Research from the United States Military Academy, an M.S. in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Tech, an S.M. in Engineering and Management from MIT, and a Ph.D. from George Washington University in Systems Engineering.
