All students must complete their 18 hours of foundations and corresponding bBeginning studio before moving to intermediate studio coursework, with the exception of Intermediate Drawing, which is a foundation course.
Students are encouraged to repeat intermediate studios in order to finish out their specialization – with the exception of Animation and Video courses. Students may repeat the course with a different professor to gain a new perspective, or take the course with the same faculty to keep learning under their tutelage. Courses may focus on a different aspect of the discipline depending on the professor.
There are also other courses students may take to apply towards their major. These courses include Art Education Community, Art in Medicine & Health, Survey of Arts Administration, and other courses that will follow a specific theme. These courses will typically be under the prefixes ART 4806 or 4930. Please speak with the school’s academic advisor for more information.
