Sarah Howard, Curator of Public Art and Social Practice at the USF Institute for Research in Art, helped to bring the Music Box to Tampa. The public art exhibition featured musical, interactive structures arranged in a temporary "village" in Tampa's Mann-Wagnon Park in Sulphur Springs.

Created by the artist collective, New Orleans Airlift, the Music Box: Tampa Bay is based off a highly successful installation created in New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. The projects unite members of the community in an environment that encourages interaction and provides space for local performing artists to reach audiences.
