Andrew Carroll, associate professor of dance at USF, has been awarded the Stanley J. Wertheimer Fellowship by the Dance for PD organization.

This fellowship provides Carroll with resources to establish Tampa Bay's own Dance for PD program.

Dance for PD is a program which offers dance training to those with Parkinson's as well as training and resources to dance educators. It was founded in 2001 in New York City by Mark Morris Dance Group and Brooklyn Parkinson Group.

Today, the non-profit continues to offer dance classes in New York City as well as 140 affiliate programs around the globe.

Dance for PD helps people with Parkinson's disease while simultaneously building community, improving quality of life, and sharing the joy of dance.
