Friday, November 16, 2018
The USF Contemporary Museum is enriching the lives of veterans through its Breaking Barriers art program.
The program will conclude with a two-day exhibition of participant artwork in the Contemporary Art Museum on December 12 and 13.
The fifteen veteran participants of the program took part in a five-week photography course in the summer taught by instructor Jim Reiman of The Art Institute of Tampa. In December, each participant will exhibit two of their works at the USF Contemporary Art Museum.
Curator of USFCAM’s Art in Health program Dolores Coe and curator of education Leslie Elsasser organize Breaking Barriers in partnership with the USF School of Art and Art History. The program is part of Museums on Call, a museum-led statewide initiative develop and present arts-based experiences for military and active veterans and their families.
