The City of Fort Myers unanimously approved a plan, formulated with USF architecture professor and consultant Trent Green, to redevelop the Fort Myers Midtown.

The redevelopment of the area will include demolishing the City of Palms Park baseball stadium to make way for a new multi-use commercial and residential neighborhood.

Also included in the plan are three new public parking structures, art gallery space, a new museum, and a community playhouse.
