Student Spotlight - Ben Gasparini

Just prior to his senior year, accounting major Ben Gasparini had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to spend his summer in New York City, interning as a summer analyst for one of the world's leading financial institutions, Goldman Sachs. This summer, he will have that opportunity again, because Goldman Sachs has asked him to return to its NYC office. In the meantime, Gasparini is currently serving as an auditing staff intern at CBIZ Kirkland, Russ, Murphy & Tapp and Mayer Hoffman McCann P.C. in Clearwater.

"The College of Business has provided me with the chance to explore many internship opportunities both locally and nationally, and, without a doubt, the classes I have taken so far have provided me with the knowledge and skillset I need to succeed in accounting. When it comes time for me to enter the workforce, I believe I will have an advantage over my competition, thanks to the experiential learning opportunities made available through the College of Business."

A former resident of the Bulls Business Community, a living-learning community for high-achieving, incoming students in the College of Business, Gasparini also served as a mentor to new residents and also spent a summer studying abroad in Slovakia with his fellow BBCers. He is a member of several organizations, including the international accounting honor society Beta Alpha Psi and the International Business Board. He also recently helped establish a new social fraternity on campus, Pi Kappa Phi.

Gasparini was included on the 2011 roster for the College of Business 25 Under 25, an honor given to 25 students under the age of 25 who demonstrate excellence in two of the four areas: scholarship, professional development, leadership, and community/campus service.
