Description of Research Interests
Dr. Hackett is a social gerontologist who primarily uses a qualitative lens to explore family caregiving, bereavement, and grief in later life. As a previous practitioner who supported older adults and caregivers through state and local level policies and programs, Sara is passionate about bridging education, research, and practice in order to improve the way that growing older is perceived and experienced.
