Anthony Concepcion, Ph.D., BCBA-D, serves as an Assistant Professor of Instruction and oversees the Applied Behavior Analysis MA program as Program Chair and VCS Coordinator in the Department of Child & Family Studies. He earned his Ph.D. in Applied Behavior Analysis from the University of South Florida and holds a master’s degree in Human Services Psychology, specializing in Behavior Analysis, from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.

Before joining USF, Dr. Concepcion worked as a clinical specialist at the Kennedy Krieger Institute’s Neurobehavioral Unit, affiliated with Johns Hopkins Medical School. There, he specialized in treating individuals with aggressive, disruptive, and self-injurious behaviors, and provided training to a wide range of caregivers, from direct-care staff to post-doctoral fellows.

Dr. Concepcion’s research interest are on the assessment and treatment of severe behaviors, behavioral assessment, decision-making processes, and behavior analytic assessment in higher education. He is an active contributor to the academic community, serving as an editor for the Journal of Educators Online and guest reviewer on several behavior analytic journals, and advisory member for state and local institutions. Dr. Concepcion is the current chair of the CFS Governance Council and CBCS liason to the Center for Innovative Teaching & Learning. Additionally, Dr. Concepcion is the faculty advisor for Beta Chi: Bulls Organization for Behavior Analysis, a student-led organization.
