Aging studies researchers give keynote address at FPHA annual conference meeting

School of Aging Studies Professor Kathy Black, PhD and doctoral student Joanne Elayoubi, MA joined Karen Liller, PhD of the College of Public Health to present a keynote address at the annual conference meeting of Florida Public Health Association (FPHA). 

Black and Elayoubi were invited to discuss social isolation and loneliness among older adults. Elayoubi discussed her research on social connections and health outcomes in persons post-stroke. Black addressed how age-friendly community features can be used to advance the nation’s Surgeon General Pillars for Action.
