Criminology faculty lead cybercrime workshop for law enforcement personnel

Hyslip and Howell are faculty in the Department of Criminology.

Tom Hyslip, PhD, an assistant professor of instruction in the Department of Criminology, coordinated the Cybercrime Investigation for Florida Law Enforcement workshops on behalf of the Florida Center for Cybersecurity. The free workshops present the latest insights, methodologies, and updates related to cybercrime.

C. Jordan Howell, PhD, an assistant professor in the Department of Criminology, is also presenting his research on open source intelligence at each conference. In his presentation, Howell discusses publicly available data and how it can be harnessed to aid in cyber investigations, as well as tools, techniques, and resources available in open source intelligence.

The first workshop was held Oct. 5 in Tampa, and the two remaining are Oct. 19 in Miami and Oct. 26 in Orlando. Register for free here.
