Kristin Kosyluk, PhD, an assistant professor in the Department of Mental Health Law and Policy and recipient of the Spring 2023 CBCS International Collaboration Award, traveled to Lima, Peru with Jerome Galea, PhD, an associate professor of social work, to visit Global Mental Health projects. During the visit, the team gave multiple talks on mental health and HIV stigma for medical professionals, including MDs, medical and nursing students, psychology students, and community representatives.
The projects were hosted by Carmen Contreras, MS, courtesy assistant professor of social work, who is also the mental health program director at Partners In Health – Peru. Additionally, several new initiatives were discussed, resulting in plans for future collaborations centering on HIV and mental health stigma reduction research projects.
