Kristin Kosyluk, PhD, an assistant professor in the Department of Mental Health Law and Policy (MHLP), recently participated in an international webinar on reducing stigma in mental health. Kosyluk presented alongside Dr. Vanessa Herrera Lopez, mental health director for Peru’s Ministry of Health, who discussed initiatives in Peru to address stigma and increase access to mental health services.
The Ministry of Health, through the Directorate of Mental Health, in coordination with Partners In Health (Socios En Salud) in Peru, organized the webinar, titled "Models and proposals for the reduction of stigma in mental health."
The event sought to exchange experiences and strategies of the national and international academic community around the models and proposals for reducing stigma in mental health. Over 260 people were in attendance, including mental health professionals and academics from various global regions.
