Courtney Weber, MA, a doctoral student, and George Burruss, PhD, a professor in the Department of Criminology, presented a workshop to high school students attending USF High School CyberCon. During the summer camp, Weber and Burruss discussed the importance of promoting cyber hygiene and the best practices for staying safe online.
They highlighted how hackers commit identity theft and how cybersecurity experts and scholars can promote cyber hygiene through short, evocative videos. Weber and Burruss shared examples of training videos used in their research. Then the students created and shared their own videos based on the workshop and posted them on the camp’s server.
