School of Aging Studies PhD candidates Cassidy Doyle and Britney Veal collaborated on a blog post for the National Council on Aging encouraging older adults to request a cognitive evaluation at their next annual wellness visit.
While cognitive screenings are covered under Medicare’s annual wellness visit, less than 17% of beneficiaries received one in 2022. Even if no impairment is suspected, having a cognitive screening can help serve as a baseline comparison for subsequent assessments in the years ahead.
