This summer scholar cohort has been tasked with developing a policy solution to the Florida Perinatal Quality Collaborative’s Obstetric Hemorrhage Initiative, an evidence-based quality improvement initiative aimed at reducing morbidity and mortality associated with postpartum hemorrhage, which is the leading cause of maternal death worldwide and in the U.S.

Houston also recently received the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Leadership Professional Development Award from the center and was able to participate in the Child Welfare Immersive Collaborative Simulation hosted by the Florida Institute for Child Welfare.
