Biography
William Rowe is Professor of Social Work at Southern Connecticut State University, New Haven and Professor Emeritus of Social Work at the University of South Florida, Tampa. He has held professorships at McGill University, Memorial University of Newfoundland, and King’s College at the University of Western Ontario. He has worked extensively in the fields of Social Work education, child welfare, corrections, health, and HIV, serving on numerous boards and committees at local, national, and international levels. Dr. Rowe has authored more than 150 academic and professional publications. He has led the development of Social Work education in Canada, USA, and Indonesia and is currently working to develop and expand Social Work education in China at the Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture and Central China Normal University in Wuhan. He is a co-investigator on a brief intervention for addictions project with the Yale School of Emergency Medicine.
