Paralegal Certificate
The USF Paralegal Certificate is designed for those aspiring toward a career in the legal field, as well as current paralegals who desire further knowledge and credentials. It includes essentials track that has three subcategories: Torts, Contracts, and Procedures.
USF’s flexible program options mean students go at their own pace. You will be immersed in legal processes, court structure, interviewing, investigation, document preparation, file maintenance, correspondence, research, writing and analysis, as well as substantive topics of law, such as torts, contracts, and civil procedure – all taught by an esteemed faculty of Judges. Students are trained in online legal research with individual subscriptions to Lexis. Additional resources include customized texts and dynamic interactive online support tools, such as practice exercise questions, lecture notes, quizzes, writing labs, mock exams and more.
The USF Paralegal Certificate curriculum now also breaks new ground by integrating paralegal training with cutting-edge AI skills, preparing students for evolving law office environments where technology plays a pivotal role. If you are currently working in legal the field for 4+ years, or have the appropriate educational background, you may qualify for a USF Paralegal Specialist Certificate program. Topics include such areas as litigation law, bankruptcy law, employment law, elder law, real estate law, and more. Each specialty certificate includes two required courses and participants choose between Legal Ethics or eDiscovery for the final course.
