Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Alternative Spring Break Cancellation (3/10)

Alternative Spring Break leaders and participants:

The health and safety of our students, faculty and staff is our highest priority as a university. Given the evolving global coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and the latest concerns regarding domestic travel, we write to inform you that the USF Office of Student Success is cancelling all university-sponsored Alternative Spring Break trips.

Student Success has come to this decision out of an abundance of caution, based on the best information we have received from the U.S. State Department and the Center for Disease Control, which discourages domestic travel. Given the dynamic nature of this virus, there are uncertainties beyond our control.

Your department will work to refund your program costs. We will send out information about this soon. If you have incurred personal costs, please work with the airlines or hotels to refund or credit those costs.

We know this may be disappointing to you and that you planned to spend your Spring Break doing important civic work. As a civically engaged university, USF passionately believes in the value of giving back and serving our communities. As always, our primary obligation is to your health and safety. Our office is working to provide other options to serve the community locally. We will send out more information soon.
