Dr. Laura Sabella is an Associate Professor of Instruction and Coordinator for Secondary Clinical Experiences. She is twice an alumna of USF having received her B.A. in English and her Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Secondary English Education. She received her M.Ed. from Saint Leo University in Exceptional Student Education. She has a wide range of teaching experiences including early childhood, high school English, and ESOL Resource, teaching in both urban and rural schools. She currently teaches the Senior Seminar course for secondary teacher candidates as well as the internship courses for both undergraduate and MAT secondary programs.

Dr. Sabella served as the inaugural Director for the EDU Office of Field and Clinical Education and established connections across all teacher preparation programs as well as strengthened partnerships with seven local school districts. She also served as Director of the SunCoast Area Teacher Training Honors Program and the Director of the Tutor-a-Bull program placing education majors as tutors in high needs middle schools. She currently coordinates clinical experiences for secondary programs overseeing all early and late field placements for secondary teacher candidates. She is committed to preparing strong and resilient secondary teachers and change agents.
