CSE students win big at 2021 Hackabull

Hackabull, a Major League Hacking (MLH) sanctioned hackathon hosted by USF's Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), took place March 13-14 over a full 24-hour period. 192 hackers participated and 155 submitted a project. The event had six companies present as sponsor/mentors, and nine judges including USF faculty and alumni. Students from across the US and 13 other countries attended. Five of the winners were USF Students: Rishabh Ravi (Third Place), Vennela Gudla Venkata Siva (Third Place), Brian Urias (2nd Place for Best use of Google Cloud API Challenge), Andre Tenjo (echoAR Sponsor Prize), and Jun Kim Tenjo (echoAR Sponsor Prize).

Hackabull was led by CSE student Axel Rivera and USF's Society of Hispanic Professional with CSE Assistant Professor Marvin Andujar as faculty advisor.
