CSE welcomes Joshua Pericles, 2017 Tillman Military Scholar
August 22, 2017
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering welcomes Joshua Pericles, a Computer Engineering student who is also one of only 61 2017 Tillman Military Scholars. Pericles was formerly a U.S. Army Green Beret, having served for over eight years on Active Duty. After being selected for a NASA Pathways co-op program, Pericles is now pursuing a Computer Engineering degree while working with aerospace engineers. The Pat Tillman Foundation, which recognizes individuals for "their military service, leadership and academic excellence," will grant him a $10,000 annual scholarship.
"My time at USF has been enjoyable thus far. It has been challenging for me and the curriculum is very exciting to learn. My favorite part so far has been the Computer Engineering courses that I have taken," said Pericles. "Given that I was recently admitted to the CSE department this semester, I am still new here but the professors and faculty have been great! I am really enjoying my degree pursuits at USF and look forward to my upcoming courses in the CSE department."
