USF CSE Awards Two CSE Pathways Scholarships In 2022
Tuesday, December 6, 2022
Dinh Pham and Paige Leclair were each awarded a $1500 CSE pathways scholarship.
“When I first learned about the CSE Pathways Scholarship, I knew this would be an
amazing opportunity,” said Paige Leclair, who recently transferred from Chemistry.
A part of the Broadening Participation in Computing (BPC) initiative, the scholarship
helps
students overcome the costs of transferring into Computer Science from other non-
engineering majors at USF.
Already a member of WiCSE and Girls Who Code, Dinh Pham attended the Week of Welcome
CSE Event, intent on transferring. “As a first-generation international student, I
aspire to be a leading voice for students from underserved communities to advance
in computing and increase opportunities for women in tech,” said Dinh, formerly majoring
in
Business Analytics and Information Systems.
Dr. Christensen, the Associate Chair of Undergraduate Affairs, reached out to Dinh
after the
event to see how the Department could help in the transfer process.
“I couldn't be more excited to dedicate this passion to a career that genuinely interests
me,
and the CSE Pathways Scholarship would aid me on this journey,” said Paige after receiving
the Award mail from Dr. Wang.
