About the Institute

Garrett Bridenbaugh

Garrett Bridenbaugh is an accomplished Program Director of the Academic Consortium at the University of South Florida’s Institute of Applied Engineering, a 501c3 Direct Support Organization dedicated to providing innovative solutions to the challenges faced by our nation's warfighters. He has earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Florida Institute of Technology and an Executive Master of Business Administration from the University of South Florida. Bridenbaugh began his career at General Dynamics Electric Boat as a structural engineer, where he designed the new Columbia Class nuclear submarines.


Following his time at General Dynamics Electric Boat, Bridenbaugh transitioned to Active Duty where he served as an officer in the US Army’s 101st Airborne Division. During his time in the Army, Bridenbaugh's grit and determination earned him both his Ranger and Sapper tabs. After his time in the Army, Bridenbaugh continued to advance his career and expertise in engineering, project management, and leadership, including as a project manager at the Institute of Applied Engineering and in manufacturing operations at Catalent Pharma Solutions.


In his current role as Program Director of the Academic Consortium, Bridenbaugh has played a pivotal role in establishing partnerships with 29 universities nationwide. His experiences have taught him the importance of teamwork and communication, which he applies to his leadership of the Academic Consortium. With his expertise in engineering, military leadership, project management, and business administration, Bridenbaugh is committed to driving innovation and creating solutions that support our nation's warfighters.
