Earlier this month the Stadium Committee made a recommendation to the Board of Trustees to further explore the Sycamore Fields site on the east side of campus for an on campus stadium. The committee will return to the BOT at a future date for approval of the site after additional analysis, such as further assessment of the land, review of the campus master plan and more study of traffic flow.
The university also announced a $5 million gift from Frank and Carol Morsani in support of the stadium. President Law has confirmed that though the university will seek philanthropic gifts and engage in fundraising for the stadium, funds will not be diverted from other areas.
