2023-24 Financial Aid Terms & Conditions

Your eligibility for financial aid funds requires you to satisfy the following terms and conditions:

  1. Read all information sent to your USF email. Check regularly for updates that may affect your aid eligibility.
  2. Enroll as a degree seeking student.
  3. Meet the specific enrollment requirements and academic requirements to receive funds for each financial aid program you have been awarded. More information about the requirements for your specific awards is available in Student Self-Service after you accept these Terms and Conditions.
  4. Report funds you expect to receive from sources not shown on your award offer to minimize delay in your aid being paid. Examples of such sources include tuition waivers, fellowships, scholarships, or vocational rehabilitation benefits. Notify us immediately using the Additional Resources tab in Student Self-Service:
    1. Click the ‘Resources’ tab
    2. In the ‘Add Resources’ section,
    3. Enter the description, term and award amount information and click submit.
    4. Do not report Florida Bright Futures, Florida Pre-Paid, Federal Pell Grant, or student loans.
      Your financial aid offer may need to be reduced and aid repaid
  5. Attend class. Attendance is required to receive financial aid (including student loans). If you stop attending all classes or totally withdraw, you may be required to immediately repay some financial aid (including student loans).
  6. Check your financial aid Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) status each semester in Student Self-Service
    1. Select Financial Aid
    2. View your status from the Home page or
    3. Select Satisfactory Academic Progress from the main tab and review your status


      Your SAP status each semester must be eligible at your degree level in order to receive funds from most financial aid programs.

  7. Check Student Self-Service each semester to see that you have satisfied all requirements to receive financial aid. To check:
    1. Login to Student Self-Service by clicking the tile on MyUSF
    2. Select Financial Aid
    3. On the screen, you’ll be able to see all of your unsatisfied requirements(if you have any). Make sure you click the down arrow for all unsatisfied requirements so you can read the instructions
