BIOGRAPHY:
Major General (Ret) Bradley Gericke, PhD, is a highly respected senior leader renowned
for his strategic insight, innovative thinking, and decisive leadership. With a doctorate
from Vanderbilt University and a degree from the National War College, MG (Ret) Gericke
has built a distinguished career in the United States Army, holding key positions
with enterprise-wide and global responsibilities.
Throughout his service, Major General (Ret) Gericke worked closely with Army executives, leading initiatives to strengthen international partnerships and negotiate agreements that enhanced Army readiness through strategic investments and efficient basing of logistics and equipment. His efforts introduced solutions by integrating emerging technologies, modern concepts, and institutional priorities into current Army force designs.
Tasked with “owning the future,” Major General (Ret) Gericke developed innovative operational models validated through scenario-based experiments to maximize Army capabilities. He spearheaded improvements in planning and training methods to enhance counter-WMD readiness, drafted Army-wide implementation orders, and regularly advised senior leaders on trends affecting national defense.
One of his most notable achievements was serving as the Department of Defense’s senior military officer for global plans. In this role, he crafted the Pentagon's first worldwide plans to address complex cross-domain challenges, including those posed by disruptive technologies and the rapid global flow of information.
In addition to his operational leadership, MG (Ret) Gericke is an accomplished author, having published capstone Army documents, professional essays, three college instructor resource manuals, two urban warfare anthologies, and a military biography.
Currently, MG (Ret) Gericke continues to contribute his expertise as an Army Senior Mentor and serves as a Senior Fellow at both the Joint Forces Staff College and the National Institute for Deterrence Studies.
