BIOGRAPHY:
Caitlin Lee, PhD, is the Director of the Acquisition and Technology Policy Program (ATP) within the RAND National Security Research Division (NSRD). As a political scientist, her research focuses on innovation, emerging technology, force planning, and organizational culture.

Previously, Caitlin Lee, PhD, stood up the Center for UAV and Autonomy Studies at the Mitchell Institute. During her tenure at RAND, she held several leadership positions, including Associate Director of the Acquisition and Technology Policy program and Acting Associate Director of the Strategy and Doctrine program in RAND Project AIR FORCE. Her work has covered global force management, military innovation, command and control, and joint officer development.

Caitlin Lee, PhD, is also an adjunct professor at Georgetown University, where she teaches a course on force planning. Earlier in her career, she served as senior aviation reporter for Jane's Information Group, covering military technology, budgets, and strategy issues across the Pentagon and global airbases, including locations in Afghanistan.

Caitlin Lee, PhD, holds a Ph.D. in War Studies from King’s College London, an M.A. in Security Studies from Georgetown University, and graduated summa cum laude from Northeastern University.
