One of eleven "Co-Coms" in the U.S. military, and one of two in Tampa (USSOCOM is the other) headquartered at MacDill Air Force Base, USCENTCOM's Area of Responsibility is the Central Region, comprised of countries in the Greater Middle East, North Africa and South Asia.

The Institute for Artificial Intelligence + X is a university-wide research and education center for Artificial Intelligence. It has a focus on collaboration across disciplines with a goal of establishing a world-class academic research and development (R&D) center at the University of South Florida.
