Food Writing and Photography Graduate Certificate

With a Graduate Certificate in Food Writing and Photography, students will be equipped to handle culinary media in a variety of fields. Writers, reporters, photographers, marketers, entrepreneurs and industry professionals all have something to gain.

Hone your skills in this cutting-edge certificate. Certificate Outcomes include improved visual and verbal mass communication skills and a better understanding of the legal and ethical issues that any contemporary communicator in the virtual or physical world might face.

Conclude the Certificate by completing a mentored and carefully reviewed project that is tailored to student needs, communication methods, and paves the path for the future.

Graduate Certificate Admissions and Process


Students must apply and be admitted into the Graduate Certificate to be eligible to receive a Graduate Certificate. Applicants are encouraged to contact the Graduate Certificate Director prior to applying. 

Applicants must meet the following admission requirements:

  1. University Admission Requirements, including English Proficiency    
  2. Graduate Certificate Admission Requirements    

Curriculum Requirements (12 Credit Hours)


  • Complete the required courses (6 Credit hours) with a focus on food writing and photography:

     

  • Credit Hours: 3 (Food Writing; Special Topics in Food Communication)
  •  

    Students will also complete two elective courses (6 credit hours) offered within the Department of Journalism and Digital Communication
