The USF Health Taneja College of Pharmacy has completed its state-of-the-art Clinical Learning Center, a groundbreaking facility that will enhance the educational experiences of its pharmacy students.
“This is where the future of pharmacy education and hands-on clinical training begins.” said Angela Hill, PharmD, CRPh, professor and associate dean of clinical affairs at the USF Health Taneja College of Pharmacy. “We can now accommodate up to 100 students in the space very easily. The rooms are modular, so it can be set up in various formations and it can double not only for experiential teaching but also for didactic teaching.”
The Clinical Learning Center is designed to be a hub of educational excellence, she said, offering pharmacy students a unique opportunity to engage in practical, real-world scenarios. The facility is also equipped with the latest technology and resources. The center will allow students to master complex compounding, ensuring they are well-prepared for modern pharmacy practices.
The space will include:
- Simulated Patient Care Scenarios: Hands-on experience with realistic patient interactions, allowing students to practice
diagnosing and developing treatment plans in a safe, controlled environment.
- Advanced Compounding Techniques: Training in both sterile and non-sterile compounding, enabling students to prepare
personalized medications.
- Interprofessional Education: Collaborative learning opportunities with other health care disciplines, promoting teamwork through interprofessional team simulations and joint learning sessions.
“This space represents a transformative step in pharmacy education, and ensures our graduates are not only prepared for the challenges of today but are also equipped to lead the advancements in health care tomorrow,” Dr. Hill said.
The unveiling of the Clinical Learning Center marks a pivotal moment for the USF Health
College of Pharmacy, underscoring its commitment to innovation, education, and the
advancement of health care. As the center opens its doors this summer, it sets a new
standard for pharmacy education, preparing the next generation of pharmacists to meet
the evolving challenges of the health care industry with confidence and expertise.
“The Clinical Learning Center represents a significant investment in the future of pharmacy education and health care. We are ensuring that our students are equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in their future careers as pharmacists,” said Kevin Sneed, PharmD, senior associate vice president of USF Health and dean of the Taneja College of Pharmacy.
