Tampa General remains the highest-ranking hospital in Tampa Bay and is now the second highest ranking hospital in Florida, based on today’s release by U.S. News & World Report of its newest rankings.
The announcement included rankings for 11 Tampa General specialties, including eight in the nation’s top 50 (with two of those breaking into the top 20), three among the top 10% in the nation. Many of the 11 specialties are led or co-led by USF Health faculty physicians.

Dr. Lockwood also is executive vice president and chief academic officer at Tampa General.

- Ear, Nose & Throat – ranked #31 in the U.S.
- Obstetrics & Gynecology – ranked #6 in the U.S.
- Gastroenterology and GI Surgery – ranked #15 in the U.S.
- Orthopedics – ranked #46 in the U.S.
- Urology – ranked #35 in the U.S.
