Kaitlin Brandt, a department administrator for the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, recently received a USF Health Culture Coin in recognition of her extensive contributions to advancing the highest quality education, research and patient care.
Brandt plays a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations of OB-GYN, helping facilitate the fiscal and functional management of the department, providing support to approximately 160 staff and faculty and furthering the unit’s strategic plan.
She has implemented processes that enhance efficiency and professional development, while maintaining the department’s fiscal health by evaluating financial priorities and allocating resources to optimize clinical revenue. In addition, her work has helped drive faculty recruitment, retention and workforce planning while balancing compliance and departmental goals.
“It’s an honor and a privilege to support a department filled with such dedicated and compassionate physicians, certified nurse midwives, nurse practitioners and staff. While my role shifts daily based on the needs of our institution, my goal remains the same: reducing administrative burdens and implementing systems that allow us to focus on patient care, teaching and research,” said Brandt. “I am deeply grateful to OB-GYN leadership for their unwavering support. The opportunity to work alongside such an exceptional team for the last seven-plus years has been a gift.”
Charles J. Lockwood, MD, MHCM, executive vice president of USF Health and dean of the Morsani College of Medicine, celebrated the occasion alongside Judette Louis, MD, MPH, James M. Ingram Professor and chair of OB-GYN.
Dr. Lockwood noted how the division chiefs who endorsed Brandt’s nomination unanimously praised her commitment to excellence, integrity, kindness, mentorship and helpfulness as a great source of institutional knowledge.
“Everyone in the department truly loves you and the work you do,” Dr. Lockwood said.
Dr. Louis also offered words of praise during the culture coin presentation, lauding Brandt’s eagerness and ingenuity in tackling multiple tasks and being an invaluable team member.
“I think the comments from the division directors highlight how instrumental Kaitlin has been to our success. It is very clear to everyone on the team that Kaitlin helps us deliver the very best care to our patients and we are very lucky to have her,” Dr. Louis said.
