Sea Level Rise on Vessel Navigation in Tampa Bay

ST. PETERSBURG, FL - CMPS faculty Steven Meyers and Mark Luther have published a peer-reviewed scientific study examining the effect of sea level rise on 'tidal windows' in Tampa Bay, FL. The study found that conditions of slow or near-zero currents required for some critical vessel maneuvers will increase with increasing mean
water depth. The implications of these findings for vessel traffic and port management in the bay were also discussed.
