ST. PETERSBURG, FL - CMPS faculty Steven Meyers and Mark Luther have published a peer-reviewed scientific study examining the effect of sea level
rise on 'tidal windows' in Tampa Bay, FL. The study found that conditions of slow
or near-zero currents required for some critical vessel maneuvers will increase with
increasing mean
water depth. The implications of these findings for vessel traffic and port management
in the bay were also discussed.
