It was the first time since 2018 that the annual St. Petersburg Science Festival was held in person on the USF St. Petersburg campus, and the College of Marine Science (CMS) was front and center in the action. More labs participated this year than ever before.
The event took place on a couple of perfect-weather days: February 17 and 18, 2023.
“The vibe at Sci Fest this year terrifically vibrant,” said Teresa Greely, director of education and outreach programs at the CMS.
Among the CMS programs represented were:
- Breitbart Lab
- COMIT (Murawski Lab)
- Conway lab
- Guardians of the Gulf
- Hu lab (Optical Oceanography lab)
- Junior Scientists program managed by grad student Natalia Lopez-Figueroa
- Rosenheim lab (featuring a screening of a film showcasing work in Antarctica)
- Stallings lab and the SHELF program, which includes additional CMS faculty
Way to show up, CMS, and remind everyone that science is not just important – but fun!
Enjoy this video capturing the action.
