Education: B.S., Marine Science, University of South Carolina (2020); M.S., Chemical Oceanography, University of South Florida College of Marine Science (USF-CMS; expected 2024). Advisor: Dr. Kristen Buck

Calyn is from a variety of different places but used to call Maine home. She has since been progressing down the eastern seaboard for her education, obtaining a B.S. in Marine Science with a Minor in Chemistry from the University of South Carolina where she worked on projects related to submarine ground water discharge, blue carbon, nitrogen fixation, among others, before landing in St. Petersburg, FL to pursue her Masters. She is currently a second-year graduate student at USF-CMS studying trace metal geochemistry and in particular the application of electrochemical methods to measure the chemical speciation of nickel (Ni) in seawater.
