David’s primary research interest include the collection and interpretation of remotely sensed water color information using a variety of methods. These research efforts have included the processing or analysis of ocean color imagery from several satellite sensors, as well as optical and traditional oceanographic data collected from above and below the water’s surface. Recent projects have been directed toward validating satellite ocean color measurements, overseeing the Optical Oceanography Lab’s field sampling operations and instrumentation, and fusing optical oceanographic sampling with other researcher’s measurements in both surface and sub-surface waters.
